BizGenius.biz Launched

My latest project – BizGenius.biz – is more or less ready to unveil. The framework is together, anyway. What mostly needs to happen next is to fill it in with a lot of content. Then, of course, comes promotion. I’m hoping to do the latter two tasks simultaneously.

This is a project that actually began a couple years ago with Biz-Tips.org. The content was similar, but I was using SiteBuildIt and Dreamweaver. Since that time, I’ve learned to use Drupal which allows the site to be much more data-driven, and in turn, much easier to manage.

I’ve been able to design it so that the various “blocks” on each page are dynamically created every time a menu item is selected. In theory, all I have to do is enter an article or news story into the database and it will automatically be displayed in teaser (or summary) mode on the appropriate pages, depending on the tags chosen for the article or story (such as “Telephone System” or “Work From Home”.

A list of recent articles, shown on the side of each page are similarly created dynamically, based on publish date and tags for the article.

Even the sponsored ads will change depending on the category selected.

Don’t get me wrong.  Maintaining this site will still be a lot of work, and it’s going to take a lot of faith to keep it up when visitors are few.  I’m planning to try Charles Heflin’s SYNND system to jumpstart the traffic-building.  I’m confident that with time and patience this site will get traffic and produce income.  How much is anybody’s guess, especially since I’ve had very little success with this sort of thing in the past.

I’m optimistic, however.  The topic is broad enough and the affiliate products sufficient enough that there are enough ways to make money.  Of course, competition in this area is also very high which will make it very difficult to achieve decent rankings in the search engines.  I have done some research with Market Samurai in an attempt to find some keyword with good demand and a relatively low supply of webpages.  Hopefully this will help.
